Great Reads “It Is What It Is: A Hood Love Story” By Ivory B

From the very beginning this book held my attention.  For a first time author, Ivory, gives a wonderful storyline, of young successful women in love. We meet three strong independent women Lucky, Ty, and Keema.   Although they could have had anyone that they wanted, they chose, to be with men, with illegal careers.  However the lifestyle they lived alone, was a cause for some drama, a plus, was the fact that this book was interesting, even without getting involved, in the dynamics of Los, Nice, and Jah career choice.  The drama within each relationship was enough, from cheating, lying,  baby momma’s, and just jealous family, was enough to keep you turning those pages.  Anyone who has ever been in love, can relate to this story, about the ups and downs, heartache, and the tears.  Check out this incredible journey, of love, life and friendship. Be sure to pick up your copy of this book in both Kindle and paper back on Amazon.

Pursuit of Happiness

It’s funny how it seems that everyone is looking for happiness in one way or another.  It could be in money, or a person, or even a job.  As we live out our lives it seems it gets harder and harder to find happiness in these thing, the truth is that when your looking for happiness in material things is only last for a little while.  Real true happiness comes from within ourselves, when we learn to accept the things that we cannot change, and work on the things that we can change, when we learn to love ourselves for who we are.  And not measure ourselves by what we have, or how others look at us, this can be hard because it seems the world, makes famous people look so happy with all their money, and fame and fortune, but look at Michael Jackson.  They both had money, fame and were very popular, but obviously very unhappy.  So instead of looking to others and material things to make you happy, we must look within ourselves to fine true happines.

Everything happens for a reason

And for everything there is a season

A time to live and a time to die

A time for joy and a time for pain

A time to laugh and a time cry

and where there is sunshine there will

also be rain

But remember in your darkest hour

There is a higher power

Who heals all wounds in time.

He can give you peace of mine

If you just believe
